Heavy Duty Net Can Handle Ole "Bugle Mouth"
KNOXVILLE, TN--As one of the world's hardest fighting freshwater fish, the carp is now being pursued by anglers of all persuasions, from fly fisherman to dedicated specialists. Whether fishing for fun, in a tournament, or in a catch-and-release situation, carp anglers need a landing net that can get ole "bugle mouth" out of the water and into the boat with the least amount of effort. That's why Loki Nets worked with top carp anglers to develop the Carp Buster, a heavy-duty landing net with all the features they asked for and more.
For extra strength, the net's big (29" x 33") hoop is double-walled reinforced aluminum, and is connected to its 1 1/4" handle by a strong aluminum connector block. Its 36" knotless netting bag is the perfect depth for easy removal of big carp, and its 1 7/8" mesh size reduces water drag. All these features combine to make a super-strong net for gentle handling of heavy carp.
Like all Loki nets, the Carp Buster is made in the United States from all-American components. Suggested retail price is $54.95.

Designed For Catch-And-Release
KNOXVILLE, TN--Protecting our threatened salmon population is becoming more crucial than ever before. In response to requests by salmon anglers, Mid-Lakes Corporation's Loki Nets division developed a big, strong net to handle heavy salmon, but with the softest mesh possible to be gentle on fish for catch and release. The result is the MARK-1, a net with a super strong frame and netting that will caress salmon and be gentle on scales and slime coat.
The soft, black knotless nylon netting on MARK-1 is gentle on fish, and its sewn-in flat bottom makes fish easier to release. Its low-gloss, reinforced fiberglass handle has a foam grip and is connected to the hoop by a solid aluminum connecting block that allows the handle to slide for easy storage. Its double-reinforced hoop has a square front and exaggerated width that eases fish entry, and its spook-stopper black finish won't scare fish at the net.
The MARK-1 has a bow size of 36" x 37", a handle that is 1 1/4" x six feet, and the net depth is 42".
Like all Loki Nets, MARK-1 is completely made in Knoxville, Tennessee, out of all-American-made components. Loki Nets is a division of Mid-Lakes Corporation, Knoxville, Tennessee. For more information, call Mark Baumann, 865-687-7341, or e-mail: sales@lokinets.com.

Another First From Loki Nets
KNOXVILLE, TN--Mid-Lakes Corporation, maker of Loki Nets, has come up with another first in the landing net business. With the introduction of LokiGlow, the company once again shows why it is the industry leader in innovation and development of new products.
"LokiGlow is the first glowing night fishing landing net," said Mid-Lakes president David Stair. "It takes the guesswork out of landing a fish at night."
LokiGlow's hoop shines bright neon green when placed near a blacklight--whether in the water or in the bottom of your boat. Mid-Lakes' special process allows the net's hoop to glow brightly near blacklight, but it is invisible to the eye under normal lighting conditions.
Stair said LokiGlow has been added to several of Mid-Lakes' most popular landing nets.
"We picked five of our best sellers for the initial launch of LokiGlow," Stair said. "We make all of our own netting and do all of our own fabricating, so we can easily add LokiGlow to other landing nets if enough customers request it."
LokiGlow is currently available on two of the company's sliding handle Tangle-Less nets and on two of its sliding handle TechNets, as well as on its NYD-7 boat net.
"All LokiGlow nets will be labeled with a special tag so our customers can easily identify them," Stair said.
Loki Nets is a division of Mid-Lakes Corporation. The company is located in Knoxville, Tennessee, and has been a prime manufacturer of knotless nylon netting since 1965. All Loki Nets are 100 percent made in the USA from American-made components.

Founded As Loki Net Company
Mid-Lakes Corp., manufacturer of the Loki brand of landing nets, is celebrating its forty-third year in the fishing tackle business.
A prime manufacturer of knotless nylon netting, Mid-Lakes Corp. was founded in 1965, but traces its roots back one year earlier when Loki Net Company was formed by Lee J. Stair. An entrepreneur and innovator, Stair developed and marketed many uses for fish netting, and that tradition continues under the leadership of his son, David Stair, company president since 1981.
The company's Loki Nets division is a landing net industry leader and innovator, with products such as the MonorailTM mesh-guard system, Tangle-LessTM, the original rubber-coated knotless nylon net, and TechNetTM, a variation of Tangle-Less.
"We are the only major landing net company in the United States that actually produces its own netting in-house," David Stair said. "This enables us to be flexible, creative and quicker to respond to customer's needs."
In addition to its landing net and bulk netting business, Mid-Lakes serves as a major supplier of netting for a variety of uses, including baseball, golf, football, fisheries research, aquaculture, oil spill containment, agriculture and industrial trades. Loki Nets are sold through wholesale distributors and large retailers throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America.
Designed to Outperform All Other Nets for Freshwater and Saltwater Fishing
Thursday April 03, 2008
Mid-Lakes Corporation's Loki Nets division announces its TechNetTM line of landing nets, offering freshwater and saltwater anglers the edge they need to haul in the biggest game fish.
The result of years of research and development, the TechNet concept combines anglers' most requested features into a specially-designed, trophy landing net made 100 percent in the United States.
The key to TechNet's performance is the Loki Net's exclusive Tangle-LessTM flat black rubber coating on the netting and bow, along with a large mesh design. This combination creates a smooth, firm and flexible surface that holds its shape and reduces water drag. The netting is bonded to the frame to prevent slippage, and the coating prevents hooks from penetrating the netting. Sewn-in net bottoms are designed to help game fish lie flat for easy and quick unhooking.
Loki Nets offers 17 different TechNet models in a variety of sizes, with a choice of fixed aluminum, sliding aluminum or sliding fiberglass handles. Each model has a durable black foam grip. Four of the largest TechNets have squared front bows and deeper nets for scooping up large game fish such as catfish, stripers or salmon.
Like all Loki Net products, TechNet landing nets use knotless nylon netting that is easier on fish for catch and release angling and makes the net stronger and more durable than ordinary nets. TechNet technology ensures that whatever game fish you're after-bass, catfish or walleye in freshwater, or big salmon, stripers, speckled trout or red fish in the ocean-your TechNet will be a reliable fishing partner season after season.
The TechNet- like all Loki Nets - is manufactured with pride in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Loki Nets is the only major U.S. landing net manufacturer that knits its own netting material. Loki Nets is a division of Mid-Lakes Corporation, a leading manufacturer of knotless nylon netting for bulk sales and fabricated products serving the sport fishing, sporting goods, commercial fishing, aquaculture and industrial trades.

Heavy-Duty Model From Loki Nets Ideal for Beating the Big Boys
Serious whisker fish anglers know it takes one tough net to handle big, tough-fighting flatheads, blues and channel cats. That's why the Beast, made by Knoxville, Tennessee's, Loki Nets, is the most popular big net on the market.
You don't have to be a professional cat hunter to appreciate the quality and performance of this new net. It is built extra tough and extra large for all anglers who like to fish for big cats, striped bass and other XL-sized game fish in fresh and saltwater.
At the Beast's business end, you'll find a double reinforced hoop with a solid aluminum connector block and large mesh made of Tangle-LessTM knotless nylon netting that's tough as nails yet easy on fish. Loki Nets' Tangle-Less netting features a special coating that serves two important purposes. First, it protects a fish's delicate skin and slime coat that acts as its first line of defense against infection. Second, it gives the netting more body to resist tangles with spiny fins, flared gills and hooks - so you can get your trophy fish unhooked and back in the water fast. Combined, these features make Loki's Tangle-Less Nets the ideal choice for catching and releasing big fish.
"The future of trophy-oriented catfishing depends on anglers releasing big fish to fight again another day," said Tim Scott, vice president of the Professional Catfishing Association. "Big catfish are indeed tough, but just because they battle hard doesn't mean that they aren't susceptible to post-release mortality. Skin infections caused by anglers using rough, knotted landing nets may be higher than we think."
The Beast comes in four net sizes, each offered with two handle options: either heavy-duty tubular aluminum or pultruded fiberglass (F). Models TECH-RF-1 and TECH-RF-1F feature a 20" x 24" bow and 24" deep netting, with either a 30" aluminum or fiberglass handle, respectively. Models TECH-RF-2 and TECH-RF-2F feature the same size and type of handles, but with a larger 23" x 28" bow and 28" deep netting. For even larger fish, Loki Nets offers Models TECH-BST-3 and TECH-BST-3F, both with a 29" x 33" bow with 36" deep netting and a 48" handle. And for the ultimate in big-fish handling, try the TECH-BST-4 or TECH-BST-4F. Both offer giant 37" x 38" bows and 36" deep netting to scoop up the largest game fish, and sturdy, 48" long handles for lifting plenty of weight.
The Beast- like all Loki Nets - is manufactured with pride in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Ideal for Freshwater Catch and Release Fishing
Thursday April 03, 2008
Whether your game is largemouth bass, stripers, walleye, pike or catfish, the all-American-made Loki Net TLD-68SH Tangle-LessTM net is the most effective way to quickly land, unhook and safely release them.
The key to its effectiveness is Loki Nets' exclusive Tangle-Less netting design that is easy on anglers -and easy on the fish. For starters, there's a super strong coating that gives the net bag stiffness and body, reducing the chance of a spiny fish getting "wrapped up" and tangled in loose netting material. A specially designed shallow bag also reduces tangles, while its flat-bottom design helps the fish lay flat for faster and easier handling and hook removal.
The same features that keep fish from getting tangled up in the netting also reduce the likelihood of getting treble hooks from lures entangled in the net.
Loki Nets is the only landing-net company that manufactures its own premium Nylon netting material - and thanks to a knotless design with no abrasion points to harm a fish's gills, fins or slime coat - these nets are far less likely to cause inadvertent harm to freshwater fish. Loki Nets bonds the netting to the hoop, preventing slippage and creating a rugged net that will last season after season.
Loki Nets' model TLD-68SH is ideal for freshwater anglers, thanks to its 20" X 24" bow that is easy to store yet large enough to handle even the biggest freshwater game fish. With a sturdy 1" diameter handle that's 30" long you'll be able to easily net fish from any type of platform. The Loki Net TLD-68SH comes with two handle options - low-gloss reinforced fiberglass or aluminum - both designed to slide down for easy storage in your boat or on the way to the lake.
Like all Tangle-Less nets, the Loki Net TLD-68SH features a "Spook Stopper" black bow that won't scare fish as you're trying to net them. This is very important, since it's during the "end game" - the critical time when fish are at boat side- that most trophy fish are lost.
The TLD-68Sh- like all Loki Nets - is manufactured with pride in Knoxville, Tennessee.

When you slide a landing net under a large muskie, you can be dealing with 30 pounds or more of muscle, sharp teeth and bad attitude. That's why Loki Nets, a leading manufacturer of quality landing nets since 1965, makes The Brute - an American-made net designed specifically for serious catch and release muskie anglers.
The Brute was designed from top to bottom for the specific challenges of landing, handling and releasing large muskie, starting with an exaggerated hoop size that allows for easy entry of these large, torpedo-shaped fish. The net bag is manufactured from Loki Nets' proven Tangle-LessTM netting, features a sewn-in bottom, and measures 42 inches deep to handle the mightiest muskie. Loki Nets' exclusive American-made netting material features a knotless small mesh design and durable coating for a rugged net with more body. At the same time, the knotless netting is easier on fish with its smooth surface that protects slime coat and minimizes damage to gills and fins.
The Brute boasts a beefy six-foot fiberglass handle with a foam grip that helps anglers hang on -even when they've got a tiger by the tail. A solid aluminum-connecting block joins the handle to the frame, and allows it to slide in and out for easy storage and transportation. For added durability and improved performance, the netting is bonded to the frame. The Brute also features Loki Nets' proven Spook Stopper finish - the netting and hoop are both black - which keeps fish from spooking as they approach the net.
The Brute - like all Loki Nets - is manufactured with pride in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Loki Nets has introduced a new Tangle-LessTM Catch & Release Trout Net (Model TLCRT-1) specifically designed for anglers who love to fool big browns, rainbows, cutthroats and brookies on artificials, then watch them swim away to fight another day. With the increasing emphasis on conservation-minded angling and closely managed, catch-and-release only waters, this American-made net from Loki Nets is a must-have.
The key is Loki Nets' exclusive Tangle-Less coating on the net bag and hoop, which creates a slick and smooth netting surface that dramatically reduces abrasion to a fish's slime coat. Loki Nets' Tangle-Less coating also gives the flat-bottomed netting extra body, allowing the net to function as a cradle and support a trout's body weight evenly. The knotless nylon netting keeps gills, fins and hooks from getting tangled in the netting--speeding up the process.
The elongated 8" X 14" bow size and shallow 8" netting add to this beneficial cradle effect, allowing catch-and-release anglers to control trophy trout in the water as the hook is removed. And as any catch-and-release enthusiast knows, the less a trout thrashes about and the faster the hook is removed, the greater the chance of a healthy release.
Loki Catch & Release Trout Net features a black bow, netting and handle that minimize spooking fish, even in the clearest mountain stream. The 6" handle features a foam grip for comfort, together with a safety lanyard that provides extra security and makes it easy to attach to a vest, float tube or chest waders.
The Tangle-Less Catch & Release Trout Net- like all Loki Nets - is manufactured with pride in Knoxville, Tennessee.
